MIAMI – A grand piano recently showed up on a sandbar in Miami’s Biscayne Bay, about 200 yards from condominiums on the shore. The piano, which weighs at least 650 pounds, was placed at the highest spot along the sandbar so it doesn’t get underwater during high tide. While officials aren’t sure how it got there, they know it won’t be going anywhere unless it becomes a hazard to wildlife
I took this picture in Jackson, Wyoming, around 10pm at night. It was around zero degrees Fahrenheit that night. People claimed the lights from the town reflected off of very cold ice crystals to produce the light saber like lights. The exposure was 30 seconds, f8, and an ISO of 100. One of the coolest spectacles of the New Year in my book.

A Tibetan woman with her prayer wheel walking by a pile of Mani stones. I took this picture near Lake Manasarova during a visit to Ngari, Tibet in Oct,2010. Ngari is famous for being the most Tibetan‚ part of Tibet, and the lake is considered as the Holy Lake of the Buddhism in Tibet.

I took this photo of a male Southern Rock Agama at the end of the Crag Lizard Trail in the Valley of Desolation near Graaff Reinet overlooking the Camdeboo plains late one afternoon in South Africa. I had actually gone there to try and get a better shot of the Verreaux’s eagle, when I came across this beauty lying on the edge of the precipice. So down on my tummy I got so that I could get him standing proud of the rock. Note his toes and tail lifted off the rock. The temperature was about 37 degrees.

rainbow lorikeet was more interested
On a warm Boxing Day in the outer western suburbs of Sydney, Australia, this rainbow lorikeet was more interested in feasting on a flowering gum tree thanany ‘Nature Paparazzi’ that may be lurking around. It spent a good few minutes gorging itself before flying off.
